Are you ready to start losing weight and/or want to get back into shape, do you want to live the life you have always dreamed of but don’t know how to start? Don’t worry we have put together a list of recommended reading to help you start your new fitness endeavor.

In order to achieve optimal health and body composition we believe that there are no short cuts or easy tips (sorry to disappoint you); instead you must make a lifestyle change. But don’t worry it is not a dramatic as it sounds.

At DPI Fitness our core belief is based on a “Primal” lifestyle. What this means is that we eat a diet that closely resembles the diet of our ancestors. Along with the primal diet we also believe in getting outdoors and exercising regularly, for more information on DPI fitness’s guidelines click here.

At first glance the a Primal type diet can sound counterintuitive to just about everything you have learned when it comes to eating “healthy” so we have put together a list of “must reads” which will better help you understand the science and philosophy behind the Primal lifestyle.

READ:

The Primal Blueprint – This book written by Mark Sisson (Mark’s daily apple) is a very easy and entertaining read that describes the “primal” lifestyle very well!

Information about supplements.

A quick post about who really is a fitness expert.

Fat for energy

WATCH:

Fat Head – This documentary is about saturated fat, but it is probably not what you think. This documentary looks at processed carbohydrates as being responsible for weight gain and not the fat itself. This documentary can also be viewed on Netflix.

If you don’t have Netflix watch this, it is a series of 5 videos (total time to watch videos 1-hr). This presentation was made by the creator of Fat Head and basically contains the same information.
